16.3. Examples of P2P Applications
Below is a brief description of some of the P2P-based applications that
are useful in B2B e-commerce:
16.3.1. NextPage — NXT 3
NextPage's NXT 3 e-Content Network joins distributed content
management systems, corporate portals, groupware tools, databases and
Web servers in a peer-to-peer content network. In this environment,
each content site contributes all or part of its resources to the Content
Network, without having to move anything to a central location.
The NXT 3 platform (see Figure 16.5) includes:
• Integrated search engine, so that users can search and retrieve content
located anywhere across a distributed network;
• Security component for distributed environment, which manages
e-business security policies using Access Control Modules (ACMs),
SSL and RSA data encryption; and
