14.4.3. ROI in moving from pull-based to push-based
supply network
Worldwide studies have revealed that in various companies there has
been a 20-50% improvement in overall working capital, capacity
utilization, cost of goods and customer service with a pull-based supply
network, as compared to push-based supply network. Additionally,
improvement in the time to market has been registered at 50-100%,
resulting in a corresponding 3-15% increase in the market share.
14.4.4. Features of B2Bi-enabled supply chain
The key features of B2Bi-enabled supply chain are collaboration,
integration and data exchange (see Figure 14.8).
Collaboration
Collaboration can make a world of difference between a performing and
non-performing supply chain. Opportunities for collaboration exist at
every link in the supply chain. Through a collaborative business process,
problems of potential and frequent discontinuity at all interfaces of a
supply chain (i.e., designing, planning, forecasting and execution) can
be avoided.
