Pr<strong>of</strong>essional Master <strong>of</strong> Business Administration Program<br />

The Pr<strong>of</strong>essional MBA program prepares students to be skilled managers. The curriculum<br />

stresses the interaction <strong>of</strong> the functional areas <strong>of</strong> business within the broader social and international<br />

context and emphasizes high standards <strong>of</strong> ethical and social responsibility. The curriculum<br />

is developed, taught and regularly updated by a faculty with strong academic and business<br />

experience. The faculty stress the need to develop communication and writing skills, international<br />

and cultural awareness and a comprehensive managerial perspective. The curriculum<br />

includes specifically required courses to ensure exposure to essential techniques, experiences<br />

and information for today's manager. The program includes a common core <strong>of</strong> required competencies<br />

in the functional areas <strong>of</strong> business. Its curriculum underscores the complexity and diversity<br />

<strong>of</strong> managerial decisions in national and international economies. Instruction is presented<br />

through various methods including extensive use <strong>of</strong> case studies.<br />

Admission to the Pr<strong>of</strong>essional MBA Program<br />

In order to be considered for admission as a degree candidate to the PMBA program, an<br />

applicant must hold a baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution and have a strong<br />

undergraduate academic record.<br />

Applicants must submit :<br />

• a completed graduate application form, including all essays<br />

• a resume<br />

• a satisfactory scores on the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT)<br />

taken within the last five years.<br />

• an <strong>of</strong>ficial transcript(s) <strong>of</strong> all previous academic work beyond high school. It is the<br />

applicant's responsibility to have all transcripts sent directly from each institution<br />

attended to the McColl Graduate Admissions Office at <strong>Queens</strong> <strong>University</strong><br />

<strong>of</strong> <strong>Charlotte</strong>.<br />

Applicants must also provide:<br />

• two letters <strong>of</strong> reference.<br />

• a non-refundable $75 application fee.<br />

International students<br />

International students must also complete the admissions requirements found on page 24.<br />

STUDENT STATUS<br />

Full Degree status<br />

Full degree status is assigned to students who are pursuing a degree and who have met all admissions<br />

requirements, including a satisfactory undergraduate grade point average and an acceptable<br />

GMAT score.<br />

Non-degree graduate status<br />

Non-degree graduate status is assigned to students not pursuing a degree. To be admitted as<br />

a non-degree graduate student, an individual must complete the same admissions procedures<br />

as other graduate applicants and must have an undergraduate overall grade point average <strong>of</strong><br />

3.000 and any necessary prerequisites completed. Non-degree graduate students generally<br />

may not take more than six credit hours. After completion <strong>of</strong> six credit hours, the student should<br />

apply for graduate degree status. Courses taken in non-degree status can be applied to the<br />

degree program.<br />
