BUSN 671 Seminar in Financial Management<br />

The seminar will focus on various areas within the discipline using case analysis. Topics may include,<br />

but are not limited to,Working Capital, Capital Budgeting, Capital Structure and Mergers<br />

and Acquisitions. Prerequisite: BUSN 622. 3 Hrs.<br />

CREATIVE WRITING<br />

CRWR 501 Fiction Workshop I<br />

An intensive study <strong>of</strong> the writing <strong>of</strong> fiction, focusing on advanced techniques <strong>of</strong> prosody, narration,<br />

exposition, descriptive detail, scenic development, point <strong>of</strong> view, and other elements <strong>of</strong> fiction.<br />

All instruction and discussion is revision-based. Students must make two submissions <strong>of</strong><br />

at least 8 to 25 pages during the residency and four submissions <strong>of</strong> equal length in the Distance<br />

Learning Workshop component <strong>of</strong> the semester. Pass/Fail 3 Hrs.<br />

CRWR 502 Fiction Workshop II<br />

A continuation <strong>of</strong> the intensive study <strong>of</strong> the writing <strong>of</strong> fiction. Pass/Fail 3 Hrs.<br />

CRWR 511 Poetry Workshop I<br />

An intensive study <strong>of</strong> the writing <strong>of</strong> poetry, focusing on advanced techniques <strong>of</strong> imagery, rhythm<br />

and poetic structure. All instruction and discussion is revision-based. Students must submit at<br />

least 5 to 10 pages <strong>of</strong> work during the residency and four submissions <strong>of</strong> equal length in the<br />

Distance Learning Workshop component <strong>of</strong> the semester. Pass/Fail 3 Hrs.<br />

CRWR 512 Poetry Workshop II<br />

A continuation <strong>of</strong> the intensive study <strong>of</strong> the writing <strong>of</strong> poetry. Pass/Fail 3 Hrs.<br />

CRWR 521 Creative Nonfiction Workshop I<br />

An intensive study <strong>of</strong> the writing <strong>of</strong> creative nonfiction, focusing on advanced techniques <strong>of</strong><br />

prosody, exposition, descriptive detail and narrative voice. All instruction and discussion is revision-based.<br />

Students must make two submissions <strong>of</strong> at least 8 to 25 pages during the residency<br />

and four submissions <strong>of</strong> equal length in the Distance Learning Workshop component <strong>of</strong><br />

dialogue, characterization and other elements <strong>of</strong> dramatic writing. All instruction and discussion<br />

is revision-based. Students must make two submissions <strong>of</strong> 8 to 25 pages during the<br />

residency and four submissions <strong>of</strong> equal length in the Distance Learning Workshop component<br />

<strong>of</strong> the semester. Pass/Fail 3 Hrs.<br />
