BUSN 454 International Trade<br />
This course includes topics on international payments, international economic theory, contemporary<br />
economic nationalism, international investment and currency problems and the commercial<br />
policies <strong>of</strong> foreign countries. May be taken as ECON 454. Prerequisites: ECON 203 and<br />

BUSN 455 Personal Selling<br />
This course focuses on the fundamentals <strong>of</strong> personal selling with an emphasis on the development<br />
<strong>of</strong> pr<strong>of</strong>essional selling skills. Since selling is an essential key to success in the marketing<br />
process, understanding selling is essential for all marketers. The course combines recitation,<br />
case study, and applied experiential learning. Prerequisite: BUSN 340. 3 Hrs.<br />
BUSN 460 Business Systems<br />
Using the operations rubric <strong>of</strong> a supply chain and/or the marketing rubric <strong>of</strong> the consumer value<br />
chain, the course approaches business from a systems perspective. The objective is to focus<br />
on basic concepts in systems thinking. This course bridges the gap between the functional nature<br />
<strong>of</strong> the core curriculum and the integrative nature <strong>of</strong> the capstone course in Strategic Management.<br />
In addition, the course introduces, re-enforces and enhances concepts <strong>of</strong> operations<br />
management and the use <strong>of</strong> information systems in the management <strong>of</strong> the enterprise. Prerequisites:<br />
BUSN 333 and 340. 3 Hrs.<br />
BUSN 470 Investment Analysis<br />
This course relates the economic and investment environment to security investment decisions.<br />
It includes an introduction to the concepts and techniques relevant to the formulation <strong>of</strong> investment<br />
objectives, strategies and policies for individual and institutional investors and an elementary<br />
treatment <strong>of</strong> portfolio theory and the capital asset pricing model. Prerequisite: BUSN 360.<br />

BUSN 474 Advanced Financial Management<br />
This course provides an in-depth study <strong>of</strong> financial theory, analysis and application in selected<br />
areas. Topics include advanced valuation techniques, risk and return, cost <strong>of</strong> capital, capital<br />
structure theory and policy, dividend policy, capital budgeting, real options, mergers and acquisitions<br />
and working capital management. Prerequisite: BUSN 360. 3 Hrs.<br />
BUSN 476 Financial Markets and Institutions<br />
This course describes the various financial markets and the financial institutions that serve<br />
those markets. The course will focus on the behavior <strong>of</strong> major financial institutions, including<br />
commerical banks, and their role in the intermediation process as suppliers <strong>of</strong> funds to the<br />
money and capital markets. Other topics include primary and secondary financial markets,<br />
treasury and agency securities markets, municipal securities markets, financial futures markets<br />
and stock markets in the U.S. and worldwide. Prerequisite: BUSN 360. 3 Hrs.<br />
BUSN 478 Seminar in Finance<br />
This course provides an in-depth treatment <strong>of</strong> advanced problems in managerial finance. Topics<br />
include working-capital management, capital budgeting, cost <strong>of</strong> captial, valuation, dividend<br />
policy and long-term financial management. Prerequisite; BUSN 470 and BUSN 474. 3 Hrs.<br />
BUSN 485 Strategic Management<br />
This is the capstone course for the major requiring basic knowledge <strong>of</strong> accounting, finance,<br />
economics, marketing management, legal environment, and international business. It is designed<br />
to develop analytical skills in strategy formulation and implementation and an integrated<br />
view <strong>of</strong> business operations. It also provides a basic grasp <strong>of</strong> policy problems in a variety <strong>of</strong><br />
business and governmental settings through the use <strong>of</strong> case studies. Prerequisites: Admission<br />
to the major, and BUSN 305, 333, 340, 360 and 420. 3 Hrs.<br />
