DRAM 336 Tragedy<br />

An examination <strong>of</strong> the nature <strong>of</strong> tragedy with attention to plot, protagonist, philosophic content<br />

and effect upon audience. Students may elect this course as ENGL 336. Spring Term, odd<br />

years. 3 Hrs.<br />

DRAM 337 Comedy<br />

An examination <strong>of</strong> the nature <strong>of</strong> comedy with attention to plot, character and the manipulation <strong>of</strong><br />

language and traditional “lazzi.” Students may elect this course as ENGL 337. Spring Tern, even<br />

years. 3 Hrs.<br />

DRAM 350 Advanced Acting<br />

Continued study <strong>of</strong> acting through text, topic, and/or productions and practical application <strong>of</strong><br />

acting theory and technique by way <strong>of</strong> participation in rehearsal, development, and workshop<br />

presentation <strong>of</strong> scenes and/or monologues. Prerequisite: DRAM 250. This course may be<br />

repeated for credit up to six hours. Spring Term, every year. Repeatable for a total <strong>of</strong> 6 Hrs.<br />

DRAM 352 Directing for the Theater<br />

Introduction to the basic principles <strong>of</strong> theatrical production from the viewpoint <strong>of</strong> the director;<br />

theoretical exploration <strong>of</strong> composition, picturization, movement, rhythm, and pantomimic dramatization<br />

and practical application <strong>of</strong> the above in the direction <strong>of</strong> a scene. Prerequisites: DRAM<br />

250 and 317. Fall Term, year varies depending upon need. 3 Hrs.<br />

DRAM 355 Topics in Dramatic Literature<br />

Intensive consideration <strong>of</strong> a single problem in dramatic literature. The topic for this course will<br />

vary from term to term and may range from a consideration <strong>of</strong> the work <strong>of</strong> a major playwright to<br />

a study <strong>of</strong> a single genre or intellectual movement. May be taken twice with different subtitles.<br />

Prerequisites: junior or senior standing; ENGL 200 or CORE 210. As needed. 3 Hrs.<br />

DRAM 450 Directed Studies<br />

Independent investigation <strong>of</strong> an area in dramatic literature, theater or speech. Open to junior<br />

and senior majors with a 3.000 grade point average in English/Drama. 2-6 Hrs. As needed.<br />

2-6 Hrs.<br />

DRAM 451 Senior Project<br />

Independent study/project for the senior drama major. The student will choose an area <strong>of</strong> particular<br />

interest (design, acting, directing, playwriting, dramatic literature, etc.) within the field <strong>of</strong><br />

drama/theater and complete a project/research paper in that area. This course is a culmination<br />

<strong>of</strong> work done throughout the student's academic career. As needed. 3 Hrs.<br />

ECONOMICS<br />

ECON 203 Macroeconomics<br />

This is an introductory survey <strong>of</strong> aggregate economic principles; the scope and method <strong>of</strong><br />

economics; business organizations; money and prices; national income theory; economic<br />

stabilization policies and international trade. 3 Hrs.<br />

ECON 204 Microeconomics<br />

This is a survey <strong>of</strong> economic principles, dealing with specific components <strong>of</strong> the economy and<br />

their application to economic problems; basic demand and supply theory; the theory <strong>of</strong> production<br />

and income distribution; agriculture, government regulation and labor organizations. 3 Hrs.<br />
