CHEM 309L Physical Chemistry II Laboratory<br />

This laboratory introduces methods in computational chemistry and advanced spectroscopy.<br />

CHEM 320 Advanced Inorganic Chemistry<br />

A study <strong>of</strong> the reactions and properties <strong>of</strong> inorganic elements based on electronic structure and<br />

periodic properties. Prerequisite: CHEM 304. 3 Hrs.<br />

CHEM 390 Chem Lab Assistant<br />

Practical experience as a laboratory assistant in the department. Chemistry 390 may be<br />

repeated once. Prerequisites: 8 hours <strong>of</strong> chemistry with a grade <strong>of</strong> B or better and permission.<br />

CHEM 391 Chem Lab Assistant<br />

Practical experience as a laboratory assistant in the department. Prerequisites: 8 hours <strong>of</strong><br />

chemistry with a grade <strong>of</strong> B or better and permission. Pass/No Record Repeatable for a total<br />

<strong>of</strong> 2 Hrs. 1-1 Hr.<br />

CHEM 401 Biochemistry<br />

Survey <strong>of</strong> Biochemistry: proteins, carbohydrates, lipids, nucleic acids, biotechnology and<br />

metabolism. Prerequisite: CHEM 303. Spring Term, Even Years. 3 Hrs.<br />

CHEM 401L Biochemistry Laboratory<br />

This laboratory is an introduction to modern biochemical techniques with an emphasis on<br />

protein and nucleic acid methods. Co-requisite: CHEM 401. Spring Term, Even Years. 1 Hr.<br />

CHEM 403 Biochemistry I<br />

Study <strong>of</strong> protein conformation and function; mechanisms and regulation <strong>of</strong> enzyme action; generation<br />

CHEM 403L Biochemistry I Laboratory<br />

CHEM 430 Topics in Chemistry<br />

This course provides the opportunity for a faculty member and a group <strong>of</strong> interested students<br />

to study a subject that is not <strong>of</strong>fered on a regular basis in the curriculum. Topics are announced<br />

annually. May be repeated for credit under different subtitles. Prerequisites: Vary with topic.<br />

1-4 Hrs.
