PSYC 449 Independent Research<br />
Opportunity for independent investigation <strong>of</strong> topics by means <strong>of</strong> reading and/or experimentation.<br />
First term is devoted to formulating the problem, etermining its method <strong>of</strong> investigation and<br />
compiling a bibliography; second term, to collecting the data and writing a report. Prerequisite:<br />
Permission <strong>of</strong> the department; also, Psychology 449 is prerequisite to Psychology 450. Fall<br />

PSYC 455 Psychology Lab Assistant<br />
Practical experience as a laboratory assistant in the department. May be repeated once for<br />
credit. Prerequisite: permission <strong>of</strong> the department. Fall Term, Spring Terms, every year. Repeatable<br />
for a total <strong>of</strong> 6 Hrs. 1-3 Hrs.<br />
PSYC 460 Practicum in Group Dynamics<br />
An introduction to group theory, research, and process. Students will examine the dynamics <strong>of</strong><br />
human interaction in a group setting. Different aspects affecting behavior within groups will be<br />
studied including group norms, cohesion, competition and co-operation. Prerequisite: junior or<br />
Senior standing and permission <strong>of</strong> Instructor. Fall Term, every year. Repeatable for a total <strong>of</strong> 12<br />

RELG 105 Inrtoduction to Religion<br />
An introduction to religious thought and experience including sociology <strong>of</strong> Religion, history <strong>of</strong><br />
the Christian Church, Theology, ethics and comparative religions. 3 Hrs.<br />
RELG 205 The Old Testament: Hebrew Scriptures<br />
Introduction to the nature <strong>of</strong> the biblical writings and to methods <strong>of</strong> Bible study. The history,<br />
Literature and faith <strong>of</strong> the people <strong>of</strong> Israel as seen in the Old Testament. Fall Term, Every Year.<br />

RELG 206 The New Testament<br />
The history, literature and faith <strong>of</strong> the early Christian community as seen in the New Testament.<br />
Students intending to take six hours in the Bible should enroll in Religion 205 prior to Religion<br />
206. Spring Term, every odd year. 3 Hrs.<br />
RELG 210 Introduction to World Religions<br />
A study <strong>of</strong> the religions <strong>of</strong> the world, including prehistoric beginnings. Study will include<br />
religions indigenous to North America, Africa, India, China, Japan and the Middle East. Major<br />
emphasis will be on Judaism, Christianity and Islam as religions <strong>of</strong> the West; and Buddhism,<br />
Hinduism and Taoism as religions <strong>of</strong> the East. For Hayworth students, this course satisfies the<br />
International Issues Requirement. 3 Hrs.
