The best libraries on <strong>the</strong> history <strong>of</strong> Protestantism in France are in Paris<br />

(Société de l’histoire du Protestantisme français, 54 rue des Saint-Pères),<br />

Geneva, Zürich, Basel, and Strassburg. The most important works are in<br />

<strong>the</strong> library <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Union Theological Seminary at New York.<br />

This work was formerly ascribed to Beza, but is a compilation by several<br />

anonymous authors under <strong>the</strong> direction and with <strong>the</strong> co-operation <strong>of</strong> Beza.<br />

Some portions are literally borrowed from Crespin’s “Martyrology.”<br />

Senebier thinks that <strong>the</strong> first part was prepared by Beza, <strong>the</strong> o<strong>the</strong>r two<br />
