the lake to the other ship is often faster than a train or bus.
AIR TRANSPORT
Switzerland has three international airports:
• Zurich-Kloten (ZRH)
• Geneva (GVA)
• Basel-Mulhouse (BSL)
All services are operated by Swiss Air. The other two airports, Bern-Belpmoos
(BRN) and Lugano-Agno (LUG) handle scheduled flights to European destinations, but they
are too small to handle aircraft, which are used for intercontinental flights in the area. For
small aircraft, there is still 62 smaller airports and airfields, one of these airports is St.
Moritz. Domestic air transport is quick but expensive, so many entrepreneurs prefer to use
rail or road transport.
RESUME
Due to its location, Switzerland occupies an important position in international road,
rail and air transport. Road transport is integrated into the EU transport system. Switzerland
has one of the highest numbers of cars per capita in Europe.
Almost 100% of the railways in Switzerland are electrified. Swiss State Railways
manage more than half of the system.
The Swiss transport systém and the Czech Republic system are practically
impossible to compare. Especially the accuracy of the timetable is the main advantage of the
Weiss system, buses and trains run on time here, a flight delay is also rather unique.
Roadways in Switzerland are in perfect condition, there is no damage to vehicles caused by
potholes, which is a frequent phenomenon in the CR.
By integrating the Swiss transport network in to the EU transport network people can
choose the type of individual road transport. The best option for individual car transport is the
Pilsen, Rozvadov, Nuremberg and Stuttgart route.
