THE <strong>LOGI</strong>STICS OF MATERIALS FLOW MANAGEMENT

ABSTRACT
All logistical activities which are connected with the materials flow management must be
optimally coordinated. The flows while meeting the customers needs must be managed as a
whole. The material flow must be organised in such a way in order the continuous production
of particular product or a group of products is ensured.
The logistical performance in the area of materials flow must be measured with appropriate
measures such as: the size of manufacturing batches, the time of production, the size of
production capacity, the production in progress.
The implementation of knowledge regarding the materials flow management was verified
under the conditions of the production company Invensys Appliance Controls, Ltd. in its
production unit in Šternberk.
