HRAD STŘEKOV
Ve 14. století lze za vlády panovníků lucemburské dynastie sledovat
vcelku plynulý rozvoj města, jehož význam tkvěl především
v obchodu a řemeslné výrobě. Pozemková držba Ústí i
jeho měšťanů byla ve srovnání s jinými královskými městy
severozápadních Čech (Litoměřice, Most, Žatec) jen malá. V
širším okolí města vlastnili největší pozemkový majetek děčínští
Vartenberkové, kteří drželi téměř po celé 14. století jako královské
léno i panství hradu Střekov».

1325. The original fort hill left its traces on the ground-plan of
the city. Its acropolis was preserved in it as the castle, still commemorated
by documents as late as in 1283. The castle was
surrounded by a stone wall, built on the filled trench of the fort
hill. The Ústí castle probably lost its importance as late as after
“Castle Střekov” had been founded» (before 1319). The existence
of two parish churches in the town was quite peculiar;
the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary» was a German
burgher church, the St. Adalbert´s Church» was called
the "Czech" church, as it was built for the Czech population
living in the settlement
round the
town and the villages
in the surroundings.Outside
the Teplice
Gate one more
small church was
built at the town
hospital, consecrated
to St. Materna.
The dedication
to this patron
is quite unusual
for Bohemia and
it is known from
nearby Dresden.
The town hospital
passed to the
Knights of the
Cross with the
Red Star.

confirms on 22 April 1325 the town privileges for Ústí nad
Labem.
CASTLE STŘEKOV
During the reign of the monarchs of the House of Luxembourg
in the 14th century, the town was developing relatively smoothly.
The importance of the town particularly consisted in trade
and crafts. Land holding in Ústí and its bbourgeoisie was just
unimportant compared with other royal towns in North West
Bohemia (such as Litoměřice, Most, Žatec). The Vartenberks of
Děčín owned the biggest land property in the far surroundings
of the town. This family also held “Castle Střekov” as the royal
fief throughout the whole 14th century.

zugeschütteten Graben der Burgstätte erbaut wurde. Es kann
vermutet werden, dass Aussiger Burg erst nach der Gründung
der Burg Střekov (Schreckenstein) » (vor 1319) die Bedeutung
gänzlich verloren hat. Ungewöhnlich war auch die Existenz von
zwei Pfarrkirchen in der Stadt; der Dom Maria Himmelfahrt»
diente den deutschen Bürgern, die Kirche des Hl. Vojtěch»
wurde als "böhmisch" bezeichnet, da sie für böhmische Bevölkerung
der Vorstädte und Dörfer in der Umgebung der Stadt
bestimmt war. Vor dem Tor Teplická brána entstand beim Stadtkrankenhaus
noch ein Kirche, die dem heiligen Materna geweiht
wurde; diese in Böhmen ungewöhnliche Patrozinium ist aus
dem nahem Dresden bekannt. Das Stadtkrankenhaus nahm
der Orden der Kreuzritter mit dem roten Kreuz.

Im 14. Jahrhundert kann man während der Regierung der
Herrschern der Luxemburger Dynastie eine ziemlich fließende
