evropských ocenění, např. Zlatou medaili na výstavě v Londýně
v roce 1863. Roku 1873 obdržel na světové výstavě ve Vídni
čestný diplom a na pařížské světové výstavě v roce 1878 byl
opět oceněn zlatou medailí za velké vědecké zásluhy. Ve své
badatelské a vědecké práci se zabýval především technologií
využití sodových kalů. V podniku působil M. Schaffner jako člen
správní rady až do své smrti v roce 1907.
ERNST GUSTAV DOERELL (1832-1877)
Ernst Gustav Doerell se u svého strýce Josefa Krombolze v
Litoměřicích vyučil malířem pokojů. V letech 1856-1858 studoval
na pražské akademii u profesora Maxe Haushofera krajinomalbu,
ve které se poté, co se roku 1859 definitivně usadil v
Ústí, zaměřil na zachycení stavu místní krajiny na počátku průmyslové
revoluce. Krátce po Doerellově smrti se jeho díla stala
sběratelským předmětem, především v řadách ústeckých podnikatelů.
Největší kolekci Doerellova díla čítající více než 100
olejomaleb vlastní v současné době Muzeum města Ústí nad
Labem».

1863. In 1873, he was awarded an honorary diploma at the
World Exhibition in Vienna and in 1878, he was awarded the

ERNST GUSTAV DOERELL (1832-1877)
Ernst Gustav Doerell was trained in house painting by his uncle
Josef Kromolz in Litoměřice. Between 1856 and 1858, he studied
landscape painting at the Prague Academy under Professor
Max Haushofer. In 1859, he finally settled in Ústí and in his
work he focused on depicting the local countryside at the
beginning of the industrial revolution. Shortly after his death, his
paintings became a desired subject for collectors, particularly
among Ústí entrepreneurs. The biggest collection of Doerell´s
works, amounting to more than 100 oil paintings, is currently
owned by the Museum of the City of Ústí nad Labem».
Forschungsarbeit auch ein bedeutender Aktionär der Firma,
sowie auch Präsident des Verwaltungsrates. Für seine Forschungsaktivitäten
erhielt er eine ganze Reihe europäischer
Anerkennungen, z.B. die Goldene Medaille in einer Ausstellung
in London im Jahre 1863. In der Weltausstellung in Wien im
Jahre 1873 erhielt er ein Ehrendiplom und in der Weltausstellung
in Paris im Jahre 1878 wurde er wieder mit einer Goldenen
Medaille für große wissenschaftliche Verdienste ausgezeichnet.
Bei seiner Forschungs- und Wissenschaftstätigkeit
beschäftigte er sich vor allem mit einer Technologie der Nutzung
von Sodaschlamm. In der Firma war M. Schaffner als Mitglied
des Verwaltungsrates bis zu seinem Tod im Jahre 1907 tätig.

Ernst Gustav Doerell erlernte bei seinem Onkel Josef Krombolz
in Litoměřice (Leitmeritz) den Beruf des Malers. In den Jahren
1856-1858 studierte er Landschaftsmalerei an der Prager Akademie
bei Professor Max Haushofer. In diesem Bereich fokussierte
er sich später, nachdem er sich im Jahre 1859 endgültig
in Ústí niederließ, auf die Darstellung des Zustands der hiesigen
Landschaft am Anfang der Industriellen Revolution. Kurz nach
Doerells Tod wurden siene Werke zum Sammlungsgegenstand,
vor allem unter den Aussiger Unternehmern. Die größte Sammlung
von Doerells Werke mit mehr als 100 Ölgemälden besitzt
aktuell das Museum der Stadt Ústí nad Labem».
