KOSTEL SV. VOJTĚCHA
Existenci církevní stavby na místě dnešního kostela sv. Vojtěcha
je možné doložit již roku 1186, v souvislosti se svatbou
dcery knížete Bedřicha se synem míšeňského markraběte Oty.
Kostel byl patrně součástí opevněného sídla, které stálo někde
v prostoru dnešní ulice Hradiště. V průběhu 15. století se začal
kostel sv. Vojtěcha v pramenech označovat jako „český“, na
konci tohoto století je v kostele prokázáno přijímání pod obojí
způsobou. V první polovině 16. století byl kostel zcela jistě utrakvistický,
nicméně již pomalu ztrácel na významu a od poloviny
16. století zůstávala fara kostela sv. Vojtěcha trvale neobsazena.
Gotický jednolodní orientovaný kostel s presbytářem a věží v
západním průčelí si ponechal svoji podobu až do 17. století, kdy
ústecký primas, protireformátor a horlivý katolík Jan Arnošt
Schösser ke kostelu uvedl dominikánské mnichy. Současný
kostel byl vybudován v letech 1704 – 1734, kdy došlo ke kom-

The existence of an ecclesiastical building on the site of today-
’s Church of St. Adalbert can be traced back to as early as
1186. It was mentioned together with the wedding of the
daughter of Prince Bedřich and the son of Otto, Margrave of
Meißen. The church was presumably integrated into a fortified
settlement, standing somewhere on the site of today’s Hradiště
Street. Throughout the 15th century, the Church of St. Adalbert
was also denominated as the “Czech” church. The communion
in both kinds is documented in the church at the end of the
same century. It must have definitely been Utraquist in the early
16th century, however, it slowly lost its importance, and from
the mid 16th century, the clergyman’s house of the Church of
St. Adalbert was not occupied continuously.
The Gothic one-nave church with a presbytery in the western
facade preserved its appearance until the 17th century, when
the Ústí primate, counter-reformer and a zealous Catholic Jan

Die Existenz des religiösen Gebäudes an der Stelle der heutigen
Kirche vom Hl. Vojtěch kann bereits im Jahre 1186 belegt
werden, und zwar im Zusammenhang mit der Hochzeit der
Tochter des Fürsten Bedřich mit dem Sohn des Meißner Markgrafens
Ota. Die Kirche war wahrscheinlich der Bestandteil
eines befestigten Sitzes, welcher irgendwo in der heutigen Hradiště
Straße stand. Im Laufe des 15. Jahrhunderts wurde die
Kirche des Hl. Vojtěch in den Quellen als „böhmisch“ bezeichnet;
es gibt Belege, dass am Ende dieses Jahrhunderts in der
Kirche das Abendmahl in beiderlei Gestalt genommen wurde. In
der ersten Hälfte des 16. Jahrhunderts wurde die Kirche ganz
sicher utraquistisch, allerdings verlor sie bereits langsam ihre
Bedeutung und seit Mitte des 16. Jahrhunderts blieb die Pfarrei
der Kirche des Hl. Vojtěch gänzlich unbesetzt.
