1 Combination cap--Comes with khaki and white<br />

covers.<br />

2 Garrison cap--Comes in khaki, black or green.<br />

3 8-Point cover.<br />

4 3 Beret--Black semi-rigid feminine style cover.<br />

a. Service stripes are diagonal stripes worn on the lower left<br />

sleeve of the service dress:<br />

(1) Service Dress Blue coat<br />

(2) Aviation Working Green coat<br />

(3) Service Dress Blue jumper<br />

(4) Service Dress White jumper<br />

b. One service stripe is earned for every four years of service.<br />

c. <strong>The</strong> color of service stripe must be the same color as the<br />

chevron(s) on the rating badge.<br />

d. Gold rating badges and service stripes are worn on the service<br />

dress blue coat and service dress blue jumper when good conduct<br />

in active Naval service totals 12 consecutive years.<br />

6. <strong>Navy</strong> Officer Rank, Insignia, and Headgear<br />

a. Insignia characteristics common to all ranks<br />

(1) Sleeve stripes: Gold or black stripes worn on the sleeve of<br />

certain uniforms. Can be ¼, ½, or 2 inches in width.<br />

(a) Worn near the bottom of both sleeves.<br />

(b) Gold on service dress blue and female service dress<br />

white uniforms.<br />

(c) Black on dark green uniforms (aviators).<br />

(2) Shoulder boards: Gold stripes are worn on the shoulders of<br />

the following uniforms:<br />

(a) White shirt of service dress blue uniform<br />

(b) Bridge coat<br />
