6. Improvised Explosive Device and the Places Where Terrorists Might Hide
One
a. Improvised explosive device (IED)--A bomb normally rigged
together from readily available materials that is designed to
explode and:
(1) Destroy objects and facilities.
(2) Incapacitate and kill people.
b. Terrorists might hide bombs/IEDs:
(1) Outside; for example, in:
(a) Trash cans
(b) Dumpsters
(c) Mailboxes
(d) Street drain systems
