PORTABLE AND FIXED FIRE EXTINGUISHING SYSTEMS<br />

<strong>The</strong>re are many different types of firefighting systems and extinguishers<br />

aboard U.S. <strong>Navy</strong> ships. <strong>The</strong> types of firefighting equipment will vary<br />

according to the different classes of ships. Sailors should be familiar<br />

with the major <strong>Navy</strong> fire extinguishing systems to protect themselves, their<br />

shipmates, and their ship.<br />
