(2) ALWAYS check a weapon to be sure it is NOT loaded.<br />

(a) A “____________ and ____________” weapon is a weapon<br />

with the slide locked to the rear, NO magazine<br />

inserted, and NO round in the chamber.<br />

(b) Visually inspect weapon to verify it is "clear and<br />

safe."<br />

(3) NEVER point a weapon at anything you do not intend to<br />

(4) You WILL wear safety glasses and hearing protection at ALL<br />

times while on the live range. NO EXCEPTIONS!!!<br />

(5) MOVE ONLY ON COMMAND!!!!<br />

(6) Do NOT touch or handle a weapon unless ____________.<br />

(7) Keep your finger straight along the side of the pistol<br />

until you hear the command “____________ ____________."<br />

(8) Keep your weapon level and pointed ____________<br />

____________ at ALL TIMES.<br />

(9) Keep your eyes on the target or on the weapon at ALL TIMES.<br />

(10) NEVER turn around while on the firing line, unless directed<br />

by your Line Coach.<br />

(11) If you have a malfunction or problem, keep your weapon<br />

pointed at your target; keep your eyes on your weapon. You<br />

WILL:<br />

(a) NOT TRY TO FIX THE PROBLEM YOURSELF.<br />

(b) SIGNAL FOR A TRAINING TIME OUT.<br />

(c) NOT LOOK AROUND FOR YOUR LINE COACH; HE/SHE WILL FIND<br />

YOU.<br />

(d) KEEP YOUR NONFIRING HAND IN THE AIR UNTIL THE LINE<br />

COACH TELLS YOU TO PUT IT DOWN.<br />

(e) INFORM YOUR LINE COACH OF THE PROBLEM AND HE/SHE WILL<br />

ASSIST YOU.<br />

(12) If you hear the command “____________ ____________” or a<br />

blown whistle, it means the course of fire has been<br />

completed or a dangerous situation has occurred. Upon the<br />

command “CEASE FIRE” or the sound of a blown whistle,<br />

everyone will:<br />

(a) Remove their finger from the trigger.<br />
