(a) PKP cylinder--Stores PKP extinguishing agent.<br />

(b) Fill cap--Removed to fill extinguisher.<br />

force to discharge PKP onto the fire.<br />

(d) Puncture lever--Punctures the CO2 cartridge to release<br />

CO2 into the PKP cylinder.<br />

(e) Locking pin with seal--Secures the puncture lever.<br />

(f) Hose and nozzle--Directs the flow of PKP onto the<br />

fire.<br />

(3) Operating procedures<br />

(a) Pull the locking pin and seal.<br />

(b) Push the puncture lever to charge the extinguisher.<br />

(c) Approach the fire, as close as possible, from upwind.<br />

(d) Squeeze the nozzle grip.<br />

(e) Direct the chemical (PKP) at the base of the fire.<br />

(f) <strong>The</strong> effective range of PKP extinguishers are:<br />
