7. Procedures to Load and Unload a 9mm Pistol<br />

** WARNING ** IF SOMETHING IS DROPPED ON DECK BY YOU OR YOUR INSTRUCTOR, DO<br />

a. Loading<br />

** NOTE ** BEFORE LOADING THE PISTOL, THE DECOCKING/SAFETY LEVER SHOULD BE<br />

IN THE DOWN POSITION INDICATING THE PISTOL IS IN A SAFE CONDITION.<br />

(1) Insert a loaded magazine into the magazine well of the<br />

pistol until a click is heard. This ensures proper<br />

placement of the magazine.<br />

(2) Press down on slide stop to load first round, do not sling<br />

shot the slide.<br />

** THE PISTOL IS NOW LOADED!!! THE SAFETY SHOULD BE KEPT ON "SAFE" UNTIL<br />

READY FOR <strong>US</strong>E.**<br />

b. Unloading<br />

(1) Magazine removal<br />

** NOTE ** DURING UNLOADING, NEVER ALLOW FINGERS OR ANY OBJECT TO CONTACT<br />

THE TRIGGER.<br />
