SAFETY NOTE: Before heaving the line to the pier you must warn,<br />

“Heads up on deck. Heads up on pier. One-thousand-one, onethousand-two,<br />

one-thousand-three.”<br />

c. Throw the heaving line side arm, out at a 45-degree angle.<br />

4. Relationship Between Teamwork and Line Handling to Get the Ship<br />

Underway and Moor the Ship to the Pier--As a team:<br />

a. Break out and don<br />
