(c) Enlarged or stretched out holes in the ears, other<br />

than normal piercing.<br />

(d) Intentional scarring on the neck, face, or scalp.<br />

(2) Waivers may be requested for existing body alterations.<br />

j. Coloring teeth for ornamental purposes is prohibited.<br />

(1) For example:<br />

(a) gold<br />

(b) platinum<br />

(2) Teeth will not be ornamented with caps, designs, jewels,<br />

initials, etc.<br />

(3) Waivers may be requested for existing dental ornamentation.<br />

k. Cosmetics (women only), if worn, shall be applied in good taste<br />

so that colors blend with natural skin tone and enhance natural<br />

features. Exaggerated or faddish cosmetic styles are not<br />

authorized with the uniform and shall NOT be worn.<br />

5. Proper Wear of Enlisted (E-1 through E-6) Uniforms and Related Items<br />

Many of the uniforms worn by E-1 through E-6 are also worn by<br />

Officers and Chief Petty Officers. When greeting a senior military<br />

person, pay attention to the rank insignia worn on their uniform, not<br />

the style of uniform.<br />

a. Dinner dress blue<br />

(1) Blue jumper or blue coat and skirt with miniature medals.<br />

(2) White hat or combination cap.<br />

(3) Outer garments: pea coat or all-weather coat.<br />

(4) Occasion for wear: official functions where civilians wear<br />

a black tie or evening gown. This is a prescribable winter<br />

uniform.<br />

b. Dinner dress white<br />

(1) White jumper with miniature medals. Females may wear skirt<br />

or slacks.<br />

(2) White hat or combination cap.<br />

(3) Outer garments: peacoat, all-weather coat.<br />
