d. Activating procedures
(1) Attach the second-stage regulator to the facepiece with the
red purge valve pointed up.
(2) Turn the regulator counterclockwise (as viewed from inside

wearer’s facepiece.
(3) To start the airflow into the facepiece, inhale sharply

e. Securing and doffing procedures

(2) Disconnect the second-stage regulator from the facepiece.
(3) Close the air cylinder valve.
