The focus of the punk opera Kupidona is on love, prostitution,<br />
human trafficking, and corruption. The musical and ideological<br />
collision of the punk (read as anarchism) and opera (bourgeois<br />
parlour). Cupid has be<strong>en</strong> arrested! The world is a global brothel!<br />
The principal characters are people on the margins. An opera singer<br />
whose father gambles her away and she <strong>en</strong>ds up as a sex slave in a<br />
brothel, a small-time drug dealer (ex punk singer), a pimp, a chorus<br />
of whores, a corrupted politician and police. All placed within a<br />
tragicomedy with horrible black humour, naturally full of the pathos<br />
inher<strong>en</strong>t to musicals.<br />
<strong>Le</strong> c<strong>en</strong>tre d’intérêt principal de l’opéra punk Kupidona est l’amour,<br />
la prostitution, le trafic d’êtres humains, la viol<strong>en</strong>ce et la corruption.<br />
C’est une collision musicale et idéologique du punk (lire :<br />
anarchisme) et de l’opéra (le salon civil). Cupidon est arrêté !<br />
<strong>Le</strong> monde devi<strong>en</strong>t un bordel globalisé ! <strong>Le</strong>s personnages sont des<br />
marginaux : Une chanteuse d’opéra, perdue par son père au jeu<br />
des cartes, qui devi<strong>en</strong>t esclave sexuelle dans un bordel, un mineur<br />
rev<strong>en</strong>deur de drogue (ex punk chanteur), un maquereau, un chœur<br />
de putains, un politici<strong>en</strong> corrompu et... la police. Une intrigue tragicomique<br />
à l’humour noir horrible, intrigue remplie comme il se doit<br />
de l’emphase caractéristique du musical.<br />
