These are two solitary beings – unemployed musicians, in love,
desperate, great romantics before the eternal mystery – in short,
the very image of the outsiders they are, whose nature it is to never
win. Their only pleasure, their only passion, their only life is football.
Football feeds their hunger for poetry, fulfils where there is lack
of real fulfilment or an honourable position in society. But, in the
end, here again, as in other facets of their lives, they only play the
passive roles of spectators.
Ce sont deux êtres solitaires – musiciens sans emploi, amoureux,
désespérés, grands romantiques devant l’éternel – bref, l’image
même des outsiders qu’ils sont, d’une nature à ne jamais gagner.
Leur seul plaisir, leur seule passion, leur seule vie, c’est le football.
Le foot nourrit leur faim de poésie, remplit leur manque de vraie
réalisation et d’une position honorable dans la société. Mais là
aussi, comme ailleurs, ils n’occuperont finalement que les places
passives des spectateurs.
