A woman with her two sons has come from Russia to Greece in
search of a better life. The father, of Greek origin, is no longer
alive. The elder son wishes to forget his Russian origins, to become
integrated into Greek society and make money. He works hard and
plans to marry his boss’ daughter. The younger son, the boy who
didn’t have any of his mother’s milk (his mother had no milk to
breastfeed her second child) refuses to adjust. He insistently reverts
to his childhood memories, seeks out Russian foods. The young
man exhibits schizophrenic tendencies and at the same time, being
unstable, he becomes the object of sexual exploitation. He also
attempts to rape his brother’s fiancée – or could he be searching
for a breast? At the end, the mother dies and the older brother, not
without pain, commits his brother to a psychiatric hospital.
Une femme et ses deux fils ont quitté la Russie pour la Grèce à la
recherche d’une vie meilleure. Le père d’origine grec est décédé. Le
fils aîné souhaite oublier ses origines russes afin d’être intégré dans
la société grecque et pour faire de l’argent. Il travaille durement et
a l’intention de se marier avec la fille de son patron. Le fils cadet
– celui qui n’a pas eu de lait maternel parce que sa mère n’en a
pas eu pour allaiter son fils – refuse de s’adapter. Il se réfère avec
insistance aux souvenirs de son enfance et cherche de la nourriture
russe. Le jeune homme exhibe une tendance à la schizophrénie et,
en même temps, étant instable, il devient l’objet de l’exploitation
sexuelle. Il essaie même de violer la fiancée de son frère – ou est-il
à la recherche d’une poitrine ? A la fin, la mère meurt et le frère
aîné met, non sans peine, son petit frère sous tutelle psychiatrique.
