The play is set in a restaurant, just off a country road. The<br />
restaurant is owned by a woman, whose 18 year-old daughter<br />
suffers from hyperactivity and att<strong>en</strong>tion deficit syndrome. Remco, a<br />
truck driver, stops there most days for a coffee or something to eat.<br />
All three characters try to escape from their daily routine by getting<br />
lost in dreams of love, money and success. By an unfortunate twist<br />
of fate, their dreams and hopes collide, with dramatic consequ<strong>en</strong>ces.<br />
Truckstop is a reconstruction of the ev<strong>en</strong>ts leading to the tragic fate<br />
of three characters. Speaking from the grave, the characters share<br />
their experi<strong>en</strong>ces with us and tell us what happ<strong>en</strong>ed on that fateful<br />
Friday night.<br />
L’action de Arrêt pour routiers se déroule dans un restaurant sur<br />
une route de campagne du Brabant Sept<strong>en</strong>trional, dirigé par une<br />
mère et sa fille de 18 ans souffrant d’hyperactivité et de troubles<br />
de l’att<strong>en</strong>tion. <strong>Le</strong> camionneur, Remco, s’y arrête presque tous les<br />
jours pour boire un café ou grignoter quelque chose. <strong>Le</strong>s trois<br />
personnages t<strong>en</strong>t<strong>en</strong>t de fuir leur quotidi<strong>en</strong> <strong>en</strong> rêvant d’amour,<br />
d’arg<strong>en</strong>t et de réussite. Par une coïncid<strong>en</strong>ce malheureuse, les rêves<br />
d’av<strong>en</strong>ir des personnages <strong>en</strong>tr<strong>en</strong>t <strong>en</strong> collision – au s<strong>en</strong>s propre<br />
comme au figuré – avec des conséqu<strong>en</strong>ces dramatiques pour les<br />
trois. L’Arrêt pour routiers est une reconstitution des événem<strong>en</strong>ts<br />
annonçant le destin tragique des personnages, qui racont<strong>en</strong>t leur<br />
histoire depuis la tombe, comm<strong>en</strong>t<strong>en</strong>t les événem<strong>en</strong>ts de cette nuit<br />
de v<strong>en</strong>dredi tragique et partag<strong>en</strong>t leurs réflexions avec le public.
