This production is the theatre’s tribute to the recently deceased
Icelandic writer Svava Jakobsdóttir. She was a major influence on
Icelandic society and Icelandic literature in the 20th century. The
play is inspired by five short stories by Svava, which were known for
being absurd, grotesque and hard-hitting in their social criticism.
Made-to-Measure Kitchen is an invitation to board a rollercoaster,
that takes you through the absurd, grotesque, humorous and
dramatic situations of entirely normal people.
Cette production est un hommage à Svava Jacobsdóttir, une femme
écrivain islandaise récemment décédée. Elle avait une influence
majeure sur la société et la culture littéraire islandaises du 20ème
siècle. La pièce est inspirée par cinq nouvelles de Svava qui sont
connues pour leur caractère absurde, grotesque et très percutant
dans leur critique sociale. Cuisine sur mesure est une invitation
à venir sur des montagnes russes qui vous feront passer par les
situations absurdes, grotesques, humoristiques et dramatiques que
vivent des gens tout à fait normaux.
