In a tormenting, maddening darkness that is occasionally
interrupted by flashes of lightning, stands a house. It is
reverberating with noise and rotting at the core. Jaundice is a
challenging take on the labyrinth; a game of orientation and
disorientation, following a map that leads straight to the guilty. The
young, wildly ambitious author uses his wicked tongue to delve deep
into the subconscious and carry out an impossible investigation.
The suspect is the father of a Camorra family, who kills his children
by preventing their birth. This is a play about a murderous father
in a spineless and devious society. It is a play about a child whose
identity has never materialised and whose only weapon consists
in mimicking the baroque and sometimes violent language of
his fathers. He recalls the violence he has been subjected to: “a
delicious dish on the succulent table of life”.
Avec Jaunisse, le jeune auteur en colère Mimmo Borrelli lance un
défi au labyrinthe, un véritable jeu policier marqué par l’angoisse et
le désir de rechercher – et de finalement trouver le coupable...
Toute l’action se déroule dans un huis clos obsessionnel d’une
maison envahie de rumeurs et de moisissure... L’auteur réussit à
éveiller chez le spectateur une conscience inquiète et à l’engager
dans une investigation invraisemblable : le suspect est un père de
la « camorra » qui enlève la vie à ses enfants... en empêchant tout
simplement leur naissance. Voici un texte inventif et sensible, écrit
dans une langue poétique qui défie ses propres limites, qui traite du
thème du père meurtrier et pervers dans une société déboussolée.
Jaunisse suit le chemin torturé et difficile d’une identité qui n’est
pas parvenue à la naissance : un fils prend la parole. Il a pour arme
de pouvoir recomposer la langue de ses pères sur un mode baroque,
étincelant et violent qui est un « plat exquis à la table succulente de
l’existence ».
