» In calculating the internal forces in the facing panel, the
structural eff ect of the panel and the infl uence of the
shear-elastic coupling of the wall layers (composite action)
have to be taken into consideration. This unintended
sandwich eff ect can lead to considerable longitudinal
tensile forces in the facing panel. Normal forces
and bending moments can be determined based on the
sandwich theory or the theory of elastic bonding. Depending
on the framework conditions of supported or
unsupported facing panels, solutions of diff erential
equation were worked out.
» The loadbearing and deformation behavior of the connection
devices are to be investigated In tests performed
on shear bodies, taking into consideration various types
of insulation material under shear loading. Subsequently,
four-point bending tests are carried out on
three-layered panel strips. Based on the experimentally
determined bond stiff nesses, a good agreement between
the results obtained in the test and the results of
the reanalysis could be shown.
Outlook
Given the great number of infl uencing parameters and
due to the complexity of the determination of internal
forces, it does not appear expedient to cite closed equations
for the design of sandwich walls. Instead, there is a
need for practice-related preparation of the design results
in the form of type-tested tables or design diagrams for
the individual connection devices.

Ausblick
Aufgrund der Vielzahl an Einfl ussparametern und der
Komplexität der Schnittgrößenermittlungerscheint es
nicht sinnvoll, für die Bemessung von Sandwichwänden
geschlossene Gleichungen anzugeben. Vielmehr besteht
für die einzelnen Verbundmittel die Notwendigkeit einer
praxisgerechten Aufbereitung von Bemessungsergebnissen
in Form von typengeprüften Tabellen oder
Bemessungs diagrammen.
