a more favorable particle gradation by intermixing lightweight
aggregate sizes, which is to result in a cementpaste-porous
lightweight concrete with closed structure of
markedly better dimensional stability than the pure aerated
concretes. In the ongoing investigations, the eff ects
of the addition of a variety of mixes of expanded glasses,
perlite and expanded clays on the thermal, strength and
deformation behavior of the hardened cement-paste-porous
lightweight concrete with closed structure are analyzed
(Fig. 3 and 4). With the optimal particle mix it should
be possible to eliminate the crazing etc. known to occur in
aerated concretes.
Based on the theoretical and experimental investigation
results it can be expected that story-high solid wall
panels can be improved with the described system optimizations
to satisfy not only the requirements of the EnEV
2009, but also the new specifi cations in the EnEV 2012. To
this extent, the theoretical analyses on the thermal conductivity
behavior of opaque structural components were
conducted in accordance with DIN EN ISO 6946: 1996-11
and with a geometric optimization of the fi ller blocks the
required insulation eff ects determined, both for the purely
mineral bound fi lling of the hollow blocks with open
structure and the cement-paste-porous lightweight concrete
with closed structure as the purely mineral thermal
insulation layer. Furthermore the improvement potential
of the thermal insulation of the wall panels resulting from
the thermal optimization of the structural lightweight
concrete with closed structure of the loadbearing shell
was analyzed. When all optimization potentials are made
use of, the precast wall panel with an overall thickness of
51.5 cm including the external rendering layer attain a Uvalue
in the range of 0.20 W/(m 2 K), of a thickness that
complies with a highly insulating monolithic aerated-concrete
masonry construction, cost-eff ectiveness provided.
The wall panels of lightweight concrete would satisfy the
currently discussed requirements of the planned EnEV
2012 by a wide margin.
erreichen. Damit würden die Wandtafeln aus Leichtbeton
selbst die derzeit diskutierten Anforderungen der geplanten
EnEV 2012 bei weitem erfüllen.
