engineering and construction practice that cannot<br />
be solved quickly on a European level. But the manufacturers<br />
and users of transport anchors need practical<br />
regulations that provide reliable results now. This prompted<br />
the Association of German Engineers’ VDI-Gesellschaft<br />
Bautechnik and the National Association Bundesverband<br />
Bausysteme to jointly work out guideline<br />
VDI/BV-BS 6205 “Transport anchors and transport<br />
anchor systems for precast parts, principles, design, applications”<br />
that, taking into consideration the requirements<br />
of the MD, provides, at least in Germany, contemporary<br />
and economical solutions for the use of transport<br />
anchors with an adequate degree of safety. Accordingly,<br />
the guideline applies to all types of transport anchor systems,<br />
independent of whether they are manufactured individually<br />
or in series. VDI / BV-BS 6205 is broken down<br />
into three parts (Fig. 1):<br />

» Part 3: Design and application of transport anchors<br />
Part 1 addresses itself to the manufacturers of transport<br />
anchors as well as the designers and users. It contains information<br />
on the correct choice of transport anchors for<br />
lifting reinforced-concrete and prestressed-concrete parts<br />
of normal-strength concrete, on the concrete and steel<br />
that may be used, the applied loads and on the safety concept.<br />
Part 2 establishes for the manufacturers of transport<br />
anchors and transport anchor systems, giving consideration<br />
to Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC, basic requirements<br />
and obligations, ranging from the development of<br />
transport anchors to the documentation of technical data<br />
in the installation and application instructions for the fi nished<br />
product. It further contains unambiguously defi ned<br />
test and assessment procedures for tests performed with<br />
transport anchors that provide reproducible results and<br />
serve as basis for a design at an adequate safety level.<br />
Part 3 addresses itself in particular to structural engineers<br />
and the personnel in precast plants and contains<br />
regulations for the design, dimensioning and application<br />
of transport anchors.<br />
The conformity of a transport anchors to the requirements<br />
set out in VDI/BV-BS 6205 will in future be attested<br />
to by the manufacturer with a conformity mark in the installation<br />
and application instructions. This gives specifi -<br />
ers and users the assurance that they are using a product<br />
that is in conformity with the state of the art and an economical<br />
solution for fi xing transport anchors at an adequate<br />

» Blatt 3: Planung und Anwendung von Transportankern<br />
Blatt 1 richtet sich an die Hersteller von Transportankern<br />
sowie die Planer und Anwender. Es enthält Informationen<br />
zur korrekten Auswahl der Transportanker für<br />
Hebevorgänge von Stahlbeton- und Spannbetonfertigteilen<br />
aus Normalbeton, zu den verwendbaren Werkstoff en<br />
Beton und Stahl, den einwirkenden Lasten sowie zum<br />
Sicherheitskonzept.<br />
Blatt 2 legt für die Hersteller von Transportankern<br />
und Transportankersystemen unter Berücksichtigung der<br />
Maschinenrichtlinie 2006/42/EC grundlegende Anforderungen<br />
und Pfl ichten von der Entwicklung des Transportankers<br />
bis hin zur Dokumentation technischer Daten<br />
in den Einbau- und Verwendungsanleitungen für das fertige<br />
Produkt fest. Es enthält weiterhin eindeutig defi nierte<br />
Prüf- und Auswerteverfahren für Versuche mit Transportankern,<br />
die reproduzierbare Ergebnisse liefern und<br />
als Basis für eine Bemessung auf einem ausreichenden<br />
Sicherheitsniveau dienen.<br />
Blatt 3 wendet sich insbesondere an Tragwerksplaner<br />
und Mitarbeiter von Fertigteilwerken und enthält Bestimmungen<br />
für die Planung, Bemessung und Anwendung<br />
von Transportankern.<br />
Die Übereinstimmung eines Transportankers mit der<br />
VDI / BV-BS 6205 soll künftig vom Hersteller mit einem<br />
Übereinstimmungskennzeichen in der Einbau- und Verwendungsanleitung<br />
bestätigt werden. Damit haben Planer<br />
und Anwender die Gewissheit, dass sie ein Produkt<br />
verwenden, das sich auf dem aktuellen Stand der Technik<br />
befi ndet und wirtschaftliche Befestigungslösungen mit<br />
Transportankern bei gleichzeitig ausreichendem Sicherheitsniveau<br />
ermöglicht. Die neue VDI/BV-BS 6205 für<br />
