itself in the clearly delayed crack formation and narrower<br />
crack widths in the SCLC with SRA addition. While in the<br />
reference SCLC a continuous crack of 0.8-mm width occurred<br />
already at the age of 15 days, the fi rst shrinkage<br />
crack of only 0.2-mm width in the SRA-modifi ed SCLC<br />
occurred at the earliest at the age of 40 days.<br />
SCLC manufacture and pumping<br />
Pump tests were performed with SCLC manufactured in<br />
a 1-m³ ring pan mixer and a truck-mounted pump M28-4<br />
from Putzmeister with a delivery length of 28 m. The storage-moist<br />
lightweight aggregate was homogenized in the<br />
mixer and pre-moistened for 30 minutes. Subsequently,<br />
the remaining concrete components were added in the<br />
following sequence: sand, cement, fl yash, water, silica<br />
fume suspension and superplasticizer. The dry constituents<br />
were initially mixed with the pre-moistened lightweight<br />
aggregate concrete for 90 seconds. After that the<br />
liquid concrete components were successively added in to<br />
the running mixer. After the addition of all mix components,<br />
it was once again mixed for 180 seconds. The pump<br />
test was performed with centrifugal feed and a delivery<br />
capacity of approx. 8 to 10 m³/h. After about 10 minutes of<br />
concrete delivery, a pause of 10 minutes duration was inserted<br />
to fi nd out whether the lightweight concrete in the<br />
