3. INTERFACE BETWEEN STRAIGHT INITIAL APPROACH AREA<br />

AND REVERSAL PROCEDURE AREAS<br />

The secondary area width <strong>of</strong> a reversal procedure is:<br />

a) 1.9 km (1.0 NM) if it is based on a VOR; <strong>and</strong><br />

b) 2.3 km (1.25 NM) if it is based on an NDB.<br />

The corresponding areas are related as shown in Figure I-4-3-App B-9.<br />

Note.— In Figure I-4-3-App B-9 the VOR facility marks the turning point in the initial approach segment. The<br />

intermediate approach segment starts only after completion <strong>of</strong> the reversal procedure turn.<br />
