Summary The principle of specifying limits for domestic extensions /residential conversions in the rural area in the Colwyn Borough Local Plan has given a clarity that
has assisted both potential developers and the LPA by providing clear guidelines of what would be acceptable. The absence of such clarity is likely to lead to
inconsistency and the abuse which this can engender.
Change Sought: The plan fails to include a policy to achieve the need to impose some limitation on the proportionate increase in dwelling size (in the vountryside) as a result o
any extension, with the aim of preventing a gradual reduction in the stock of smaller and medium sized dwellings in countryside areas".
