4.175 - CCW welcomes the recognition of the need for the authority to consider impacts of activities that lie outside Snowdonia National Park on the
purposes of the Park. To be consistent with the Environment Act 1995, CCW advise that the last sentence of this paragraph is amended to read as follows:
'In these areas, the Environment Act 1995 requires the Council to have regard to the purposes for which the National Park was designated.'

Summary The proposal to develop land at Gloddaeth Isaf Farm for housing goes against most of what is said in this section -NTE/1 c)retaining and controlling the
identity of individual settlements and the open counrtyside through use of settlement boundaries to control development - Penrhynside as a village (needs to
be redesignated from urban site) has a defined boundary in Derwen Lane, and no development should be allowed beyond this.

Summary There are no specific references or policies on how they propose to deal with wind farms outside the SSA - BWEA's draft response only briefly refers to this in
but this is a key issue which requires clear local policy. For example, TAN 8 encourages small community based schemes outside SSAs and states that "loca
planning authorities should give careful consideration to these issues and provide criteria that are appropriate to local circumstances". The Conwy LDP has
not done this.
