SPATIAL POLICIES, KEY DIAGRAMS AND SUPPORTING DEVELOPMENT CONTROL POLICIES
Policy NTE/1 The Natural Environment
Rep No Name
140 Mr J Williams [237]
1
Summary I am satisfied with the LDP as it stands. I write in support of the Green Wedges Policies, and of Policy DP/1 to protect prime agricultural land from
development.
Change Sought: None
1572 Countryside Council for Wales (Mr Richard Ninnes) [1948]
1 Support
Summary To comply with LDP Wales, paragraphs 2.18 and 2.21, criterion (d) should be amended to clarify that this refers to statutory and non-statutory designations.
4.175 - CCW welcomes the recognition of the need for the authority to consider impacts of activities that lie outside Snowdonia National Park on the
purposes of the Park. To be consistent with the Environment Act 1995, CCW advise that the last sentence of this paragraph is amended to read as follows:
'In these areas, the Environment Act 1995 requires the Council to have regard to the purposes for which the National Park was designated.'
Summary Bullet point g) refers to respecting, maintaining or improving the unique local character and features in each Landscape Character Area. We have not been
able to find these areas on the proposal maps as referred to in the policy. It is essential that we get this information before we can give comments on the
content of this policy.
Change Sought: Bullet point g) refers to respecting, maintaining or improving the unique local character and features in each Landscape Character Area. We have not been
able to find these areas on the proposal maps as referred to in the policy. It is essential that we get this information before we can give comments on the
content of this policy.
177 Ms Diane Farmer [425]
1 Object
Summary The proposal to develop land at Gloddaeth Isaf Farm for housing goes against most of what is said in this section -NTE/1 c)retaining and controlling the
identity of individual settlements and the open counrtyside through use of settlement boundaries to control development - Penrhynside as a village (needs to
be redesignated from urban site) has a defined boundary in Derwen Lane, and no development should be allowed beyond this.
Change Sought: Remove proposed housing development of farmland at Gloddaeth Isaf Farm from the Plan and redesignate Penrhynside as a village, with a defined boundary
637 Mr John Blakesley [870]
Summary There should be a reference to light pollution in para h
Change Sought: Add the word "light" in the types of pollution referred to in para h
475 Chris Wynne (Mr Chris Wynne) [721]
Summary While we support the principles of this policy it attempts to cover too many issues and would benefit from breaking down into smaller, clearer policies
ensuring coherency and allowing greater flexibility in developing responses
Change Sought: As above
1484 Mr Jonathan Cawley [1876]
1 Object
Summary There are no specific references or policies on how they propose to deal with wind farms outside the SSA - BWEA's draft response only briefly refers to this in
but this is a key issue which requires clear local policy. For example, TAN 8 encourages small community based schemes outside SSAs and states that "loca
planning authorities should give careful consideration to these issues and provide criteria that are appropriate to local circumstances". The Conwy LDP has
not done this.
Change Sought: Include section (policy/guidance) on dealing with wind farms outside the SSA, eg small community based schemes.
