People Type The Abergele Business Park was granted planning permission under very questionable circumstances contrary to the local plan. Permission was granted on the understanding that it would create a thousand new high tech jobs. To date this site has achieved virtually nothing. Tir Llwyd has been in existence for approximately 30 years. To date it is probably half full. At Bodelwyddan and St Asaph there are several large employment sites empty. Change Sought: The events of the last 30 years to not support the over allocation of employment land. The Abergele Business Park (Science Park) should be retained as originally agreed, i.e. No housing development on the site. The site south east of Abergele should be deleted from the Plan. The definition of commuting needs to be re-examined. 22380 Mrs Searl [5170] 1 Object Summary Due regard has been paid to policies EMP/1 and EMP/2 and the requirement for 7.2 hectares of employment land (B1) on the site at Esgyryn. It is considered that the comments made throughout this submission on the level of over supply of employment land clearly lay out our objection to the level of employment land proposed and we would ask that due consideration be paid to the re-allocation of the land uses on site to a move appropriate mix, with additional residential provision in line with the plan included at Appendix 2. The Council has not properly justified the proposed split for employment land provision of 80% and 20% Change Sought: The Plan should make provision for about 55 ha of employment land and a further 8.4 ha for contingency sites.
