Summary Surplus land at Brynyneuadd hospital is allocation for mixed uses. It is considered that the area of land concerned should be extended and that recreation
and residential uses be included within the list of appropriate uses. The site is comprised of previously used land, and is sited accessibly in relation to the
services provided in the village centre. The opportunity exists to develop this land, brining economic and other benefits to the village, including the provision
of affordable housing in an accessible location.
Change Sought: To amend the range of uses envisaged by adding recreational and residential uses to the uses proposed for Brynyneuadd and that the area shown on the
proposals map for the allocation should be extended to include land fronting the main public highway.
Summary The strategy aims to restrict the number of new dwellings in the settlements on the basis of perceived lack of demand. There is no evidence to justify
restricting the numbers of new dwellings on this basis. Llanfairfechan in particular, is able to accomodate further provision of new dwellings without causing
harm. indeed, the additional activity would assist in supporting existing facilities and services.
Change Sought: To omit the reference to a specific number of dwellings in the strategy
