The website is virtually impenetrable and gives every impression of having been specifically designed to obfuscate and confuse. The venues and opportunities to view the proposals in hard copy have been few, badly advertised and set during the working week/hours rendering it all the harder for anyone in work to get an opportunity to attend. The period given for public consultation has been pitifully short, given the time and resource the Local Authority has had to develop the plan. Conwy is particularly vulnerable due to the large expanse of coast and the low-lying nature of a substantial portion of the land. VISION AND OBJECTIVES 2.1 A Vision for Conwy Rep No Name People Type 558 Sian Hooson (Ms Sian Hooson) [828] 1 Object Summary The Older People's Task & Finish Group on influencing and developing an age friendly built environment (from the Strategy for Older People in Wales 2008-13) found that there was insufficient information in the LDP on the significant demographic changes taking place in Wales and the implications of an ageing society for future housing development and community facilities. A paper listing significant statistics and their implications has been submitted via email. Change Sought: More detailed statistics on the major demographic changes in Wales and Conwy in particular should be included in the LDP or relevant background documents and issues relating to the design of future housing and community facilities (with regaards to an ageing society) should be incorporated (e.g. Lifetime homes, Lifetime Neighbourhoods). 17
