SPATIAL POLICIES, KEY DIAGRAMS AND SUPPORTING DEVELOPMENT CONTROL POLICIES
Policy STR/5 Integrated Sustainable Transport System
Rep No Name
People Type
2 Mr Alan Holden [14]
1 Support
Summary It's actually Sustrans National Cycle Route 5. I hope you look after/plan it better than the section running through Rhos on Sea to Penrhyn Bay which is poorly
designed and maintained (Rhos on Sea to Old Colwyn).
184 Welsh Assembly Government (Mr B Beachell) [455]
1 Support
Summary Protected Route - Abergele Bypass
The Assembly will wish to be consulted on any proposal which affects Abergele roundabout in order to ensure a satisfactory layout is achieved especially in
relation to the A55 westbound off slip road. This may affect the alignment of the proposed route and hence the area which requires protecting.
633 Mr Paul Luckock [146]
1 Support
Summary I write in support of the Local Development Plan proposals for Abergele.
I support the construction of a by pass road and the construction of additional houses to the west of the town. I judge we need such development to ensure
the economic viability of the town and to ensure younger people are encouraged to remain and live and work in North Wales.
I am also very relaxed about the construction of a Gypsy Traveller site. I judge that the Council should consult with the Gypsy Traveller community in North
Wales to ensure the site is co-created with the residents of Abergele to ensure high quality design and construction to meet Gypsy and Traveller's needs.
1481 Conwy Children and Young People's Partnership (Ms Alwen Sian Williams) [1867]
Summary Improve quality of current train station.
Improve quality of transport.
Improve train stations/bus stops.
More reliable bus service to encourage public transport to reduce pollution.
1479 Conwy Children and Young People's Partnership (Ms Alwen Sian Williams) [1867]
Summary More walking paths - not just along the prom.
Summary Policy STR 5
Site Ref. 37/38 Land off Derwen Lane, Penrhyn Bay
Change Sought:
Council officers have indicated that this site is proposed for a car park to serve parents dropping off and collecting children from the adjoining schools. The
site is not proposed for housing.
Omit small area of land allocated for housing off Derwen Lane opposite Ysgol Creuddyn and replace with a transport/education allocation. See plan attached
1464 Denbighshire County Council - Planning Policy (Martha Savage) [1843]
1 Object
Summary A number of routes contained within the Regional Transport Plan (RTP) are safeguarded within the LDP. To date no routes have been safeguarded within
Denbighshire as the RTP has not yet been adopted. It is considered that safeguarding routes could potentially cause planning blight. It is unclear whether the
issue of planning blight has been taken into account during the process of formulating the LDP.
Change Sought: It is considered that safeguarding routes could potentially cause planning blight. It is unclear whether the issue of planning blight has been taken into account
during the process of formulating the LDP.
1420 Sustrans (Mr Glyn Evans) [1770]
1 Object
Summary I am happy with the overall coverage that the Plan gives to sustainable transport, but I do not believe that the plan is detailed enough in what it proposes for
walking & cycling. The majority of projects that it details are already in the programme and should be complete within the next 5 years, whereas the plan runs
until 2022.
Walking & Cycling networks should be proposed for all major towns in the county with all new developments contributing to walking & cycling links in the
vicinity of the new development.
Change Sought: Walking & Cycling networks should be proposed for all major towns in the county with all new developments contributing to walking & cycling links in the
vicinity of the new development.
