Summary I write in support of the Local Development Plan proposals for Abergele.
I support the construction of a by pass road and the construction of additional houses to the west of the town. I judge we need such development to ensure
the economic viability of the town and to ensure younger people are encouraged to remain and live and work in North Wales.
I am also very relaxed about the construction of a Gypsy Traveller site. I judge that the Council should consult with the Gypsy Traveller community in North
Wales to ensure the site is co-created with the residents of Abergele to ensure high quality design and construction to meet Gypsy and Traveller's needs.

Access to the site will need the upgrading of Kinmel Manor access track or in the case of a new access, it will need to be located sufficiently clear of the
roundabout and roundabout approaches to ensure free flow of traffic is maintained.

Summary I cannot in all conscience find an argument against allocating a designated site for genuine Romany folk, with proper facilities and services, provided they are
required to pay council tax/rent like everyone else. Does the Conwy LDP include proposals to impose such charges?
Change Sought: Include proposals for charging, ie to pay council tax/rent.

Summary LDP process should be based on evidence, available for discussion as early as possible. This site should be shown (if needed) in deposit plan and based on
evidence. If a specific site isn't shown the policy should be reworded in line with paragraph 26 and annex B of WAG circular 30/2007 to provide a degree of
certainty that if a suitable site is needed, it will be approved. The criteria in part 2 of the policy needs reviewing to avoid duplication of 'area of search' issues.
A policy is needed (setting reasonable criteria) to meet future/unexpected demand for sites outside the search area especially for permanent sites.
