Summary The text recognises the need "to impose some limitation on the proportionate increase in dwelling size (in the countryside) as a result of any extension, with
the aim of preventing a gradual reduction in the stock of smaller and medium sized dwellings in countryside areas". This approach is welcomed by CPRW.
However, the Plan fails to include the means to achieve this, with reliance being placed on Plan Policy DP/6 - that development proposals must comply with
national planning policy. In this instance national guidance fails to give clear guidance and consequently this needs to be found in the LDP.
Change Sought: The inlcusion in the Plan of greater clarity on what "limits" would be acceptable would assist both developers and the LPA. The absence of such clarity is
likely to lead to inconsistency and the abuse which this can engender.
