Summary Whilst it is noted that the focus for Llandudno Junction relates to employment and economic growth this needs to be balanced with the provision of homes to
facilitate the retention of employees, businesses and disposable incomes within the local area.
Change Sought: The increased provision of housing within Llandudno Junction can further assist in the promotion of sustainability and reduce the concerns on commuting
impacts on pollution and congestion. This principle is the basis of the proposed mixed use development at Esgyryn as outlined on the indicative masterplan
produced by Pod. The aspiration is to create a development which facilities and promotes live, work and play in the Junction and a reduction in the need to
travel. The reduced housing provision of 90 units as proposed in the Deposit Plan will not sufficiently meet this need.
