amente y se pueden obtener mediciones. Además, hay
una estrecha correlación entre las alteraciones de conducción
del nervio mediano en el EMG y las mediciones
de su área de sección con la ecografía. Por otro lado, se
puede valorar el grado de afectación del nervio mediano,
lo que permite una mejor planificación del tratamiento y
su evolución posoperatoria.
En los pacientes operados del túnel carpiano, se puede
ver el retináculo seccionado, así como las cicatrices
posoperatorias, con alteraciones en el área de sección cuando
hay recidiva de los síntomas.

Síndrome del túnel cubital o del canal de
Guyón
Es un síndrome provocado por la compresión del nervio
cubital a su entrada en la parte interna de la muñeca.
El nervio cubital pasa por encima del retináculo flexor y
por debajo del ligamento palmar del carpo a través de este
canal que en condiciones normales solo contiene la arteria,
vena y nervio. La causa más frecuente es un ganglión, que
aparece como una lesión quística y redondeada. Otras veces
obedece a microtraumas, traumas deportivos o idiopática.
En la ecografía hay engrosamiento del nervio cubital
y se puede identificar el factor causante.
