4. Otras enfermedades en las cuales puede ocurrir<br />
osteoporosis.<br />
- Hemopatías graves.<br />
- Mastocitosis.<br />
- Inmovilización prolongada.<br />
- Insuficiencia renal a término o pretérmino.<br />
- Fracturas.<br />
- Osteogénesis imperfecta.<br />
- Sospecha radiológica de osteoporosis, especialmente<br />
con fractura vertebral.<br />
5. Ingestión de medicamentos que pueden producir una<br />
osteoporosis.<br />
- Toma de esteroides por más de 3 meses.<br />
- Postrasplantes.<br />
- Tratamiento con fenobarbital o fenitoína por un tiempo<br />
mayor de 1 año.<br />
6. Mediciones evolutivas de la osteoporosis.<br />
- Evaluación <strong>del</strong> progreso de la enfermedad durante el<br />
tratamiento.<br />
- Persistencia de osteoporosis con un tratamiento metódico.<br />
Los intervalos de chequeo dependen de la precisión<br />
<strong>del</strong> método de medición, la extensión de la osteoporosis y<br />
<strong>del</strong> período entre la menopausia y el inicio <strong>del</strong> tratamiento.<br />
CONTRAINDICACIONES<br />
- Edema marcado en MI.<br />
- Deformidad anatómica de la tibia.<br />
- Fractura de la tibia.<br />
Nota: siempre debe seleccionarse el tobillo en que no<br />
exista lesión.<br />
