The proposition E expresses the fact th<strong>at</strong> the class<br />

denoted by the subject is altogether outside the class<br />

denoted by the predic<strong>at</strong>e. Thus,<br />

compounds,&quot; means th<strong>at</strong> all the class &quot;metals&quot; is out<br />

side <strong>of</strong> the class &quot;compounds.&quot; The proposition is<br />
