dry grout; alternatively, paddle type mortar mixers can be used. The<br />

quantity of grout to be mixed at one time should not exceed that amount<br />

which can be placed in approximately 10 to 15 minutes.<br />

Batching :<br />

Batching of grout by fraction of a bag is not allowed. The quantity of<br />

mixing water should be the minimum commensurate with workability,<br />

compaction, and filling of the grout in all corners and crevices. Mixing<br />

should be done for a minimum of three minutes to obtain a fluid grout of<br />

uniform consistency.<br />

Shrinkage Compensated Grout:<br />

Shrinkage compensated grout of Associated Cement Companies Limited<br />

or any other approved manufacturer should be used. The batching shall<br />

be as per the manufacturer's <strong>specifications</strong>, other procedures being as<br />

above.<br />

5.30 CONCRETING OF SUBSTRUCTURE AND SUPERSTRUCTURE<br />

5.30.1 Construction and concreting of substructure and superstructure shall<br />

conform to the requirements laid down in “Specifications for Road and<br />

Bridge Works – published by MORT&H and IS-456-2000 and the<br />

requirements specified hereunder. Relative applicability of codes shall<br />

be as mentioned in para-3 of Part-I Special Specifications.<br />

5.30.2 Grade of Controlled Concrete<br />

The grades of concrete, maximum size of aggregates, Minimum and<br />

maximum cement content per m3 of concrete, max water cement ratio<br />

and slump shall be as follows.
