dry grout; alternatively, paddle type mortar mixers can be used. The
quantity of grout to be mixed at one time should not exceed that amount
which can be placed in approximately 10 to 15 minutes.
Batching :
Batching of grout by fraction of a bag is not allowed. The quantity of
mixing water should be the minimum commensurate with workability,
compaction, and filling of the grout in all corners and crevices. Mixing
should be done for a minimum of three minutes to obtain a fluid grout of
uniform consistency.
Shrinkage Compensated Grout:
Shrinkage compensated grout of Associated Cement Companies Limited
or any other approved manufacturer should be used. The batching shall
be as per the manufacturer's specifications, other procedures being as
above.
5.30 CONCRETING OF SUBSTRUCTURE AND SUPERSTRUCTURE
5.30.1 Construction and concreting of substructure and superstructure shall
conform to the requirements laid down in “Specifications for Road and
Bridge Works – published by MORT&H and IS-456-2000 and the
requirements specified hereunder. Relative applicability of codes shall
be as mentioned in para-3 of Part-I Special Specifications.
5.30.2 Grade of Controlled Concrete
The grades of concrete, maximum size of aggregates, Minimum and
maximum cement content per m3 of concrete, max water cement ratio
and slump shall be as follows.
