Definition of Incomplete Work A line or stretch of pipe sewer (including the excavation thereof and all other accessories thereto) will be considered incomplete unless entirely laid jointed and fully tested, encased wherever required the trenches filled and consolidated, and the manhole at each and completely finished with floors, channels cover and all other detail. A manhole will be considered incomplete unless it is completely finished as above, and at least one of the lines of pipe sewer to which it belongs or it attached, is complete as described above. The Contractors shall have no claim for incomplete work and no incomplete work will be measured up for payment to the Contractors. 22.2 MEASUREMENT FOR TRANSPORT OF RUBBLES Serviceable rock will be permitted to be used for refilling trenches. The measurement for the items of transport of rubble to specified distance will be either by lorry measurements or depot measurement as directed without deducting anything in quantities in excess of the calculated surplus material to be removed as per excavation item.

No. 439 22.3 CONTRACTOR TO OBSERVE ALL CONDITIONS The contractors are particularly directed to observe from the Articles of Agreement and the Specification what is to be included in their rate for the several portions of the work and also under what conditions payments are to be made. 23.0 Dewatering including diversion of stream, providing cofferdams, bunds etc. as may be necessary for foundation and other parts of the work and bailing out and pumping out water during and after excavation as required. 23.1 General: 23.2 Method: The foundation trenches shall be kept dry by resort to pumping alone or pumping in combination with diversion channels, cofferdams, bunds, diversion weirs, drainage channels, well points or any other satisfactory method to suit local conditions at the choice of the contractor. The contractor shall supply details of his proposals for approval of the Engineer, but such approval shall in no way release the contractor from the responsibility for the adequacy of diversion and dewatering arrangements and for the quality and safety of the work, for all of which the contractor shall be solely responsible. The method to be adopted shall be entirely left to the choice of the contractor provided adequate dewatering is carried out and the scheduled programme is adhered to. The contractor shall plan, construct and maintain satisfactorily necessary diversion channels and temporary diversion and protective works so as to safely pass the stream flow and also satisfactorily deal with any sudden rise of flow
