Lily is one of your residents and she has a
temperature of 39.8. Her face is hot to touch but pale
and she has a dry mouth and sore throat. She
complains of a headache and shivers, she is quite
listless. The GP diagnoses an upper RTI and
prescribes antibiotics, increased fluid intake and
paracetomol. The nurse writes into the care plan:
Note and report any further pyrexia.
Give prescribed medication for 48hrs and record
effect.
Record temp.
Use a fan or tepid sponge where appropriate.
