Stanka Hrastelj se je rodila leta 1975<br />

v Brežicah. Danes živi in ustvarja<br />

v Krškem. Študirala je teologijo na<br />

Univerzi v Ljubljani. Je pesnica, pisateljica,<br />

prevajalka poezije iz hrva škega in<br />

srbskega jezika, urednica ter moderatorka<br />

literarnih dogodkov. Deluje tudi<br />

kot selektorka in mentorica literarnih<br />

srečanj in delavnic. Leta 2001 je bila na<br />

festivalu Urška imenovana za naj boljšo<br />

mlado slovensko pesnico. Doslej je objavila<br />

dve pesniški zbirki: Nizki toni<br />

(2005), za katero je prejela nagrado<br />

21. slovenskega knjižnega sejma za<br />

najboljši literarni prvenec, in Gospod,<br />

nekaj imamo za vas (2009), s katero<br />

se je uvrstila v ožji izbor za Jenkovo<br />

nagrado za najboljšo zbirko poezije.<br />

Leta 2007 je v okviru Slovenskih dnevov<br />

knjige v Mariboru prejela naziv<br />

vitezinja poezije pesniškega turnirja.<br />

Njene pesmi so prevedene v številne<br />

tuje jezike in so zastopane v mnogih<br />

domačih in tujih antologijah.<br />

Stanka Hrastelj was born in 1975 at<br />

Brežice, Slovenia . Today she lives and<br />

works in Krško . She studied Theology<br />

at the University of Ljubljana . She is<br />

a poet, writer, translator of poetry from<br />

Croatian and Serbian, editor, and<br />

moderator of literary events . She also<br />

acts as a selector and mentor at literary<br />

events and workshops . In 2001, she was<br />

named the best young Slovenian poet at<br />

the Urška Festival of Young Literature .<br />

She has published two collections of<br />

poetry, namely Nizki toni (Low Tones,<br />

2005), for which she received the 21 st<br />

Slovenian Book Fair Award for the best<br />

debut book; and Gospod, nekaj imamo<br />

za vas (Sir, We Have Got Something For<br />

You, 2009), which made the short list of<br />

candidates for the Jenko Prize, awarded<br />

for the best book of poetry . In 2007, she<br />

was honoured with the title Knight of<br />

Poetry at the poetry tournament of the<br />

Slovenian Book Days in Maribor . Her<br />

poetry has been translated into several<br />

languages and is also featured in numerous<br />

anthologies, both domestic and<br />

foreign .
